How to Connect RevenueStack to Paddle
Paddle Billing uses server-side API keys with Bearer authentication. Use a live key for live data and a sandbox key for sandbox data; never use a client-side token as an API key.
Credentials RevenueStack requires
Before you start
You need access to the current Paddle Billing dashboard and the seller account whose catalog and prices RevenueStack will manage.
- Paddle Billing API keys are created under Developer tools → Authentication.
- Sandbox and live environments use different keys and API base URLs.
- Paddle API keys are server-side secrets; client-side tokens are a different credential type for Paddle.js.
1. Paddle Vendor / Account ID
RevenueStack uses your Paddle seller or account identifier to select the correct Paddle account. Paddle’s current API documentation calls account entities and resources by Paddle IDs; the exact dashboard label may be Seller ID or Account ID depending on your account view.
- Sign in to the Paddle Billing dashboard and switch to the correct live or sandbox environment.
- Open the account or business settings area and locate the seller/account identifier shown for that environment.
- Copy the complete identifier without labels, spaces, or quotation marks.
- If the dashboard does not expose the identifier in settings, use the account information shown in the current Paddle developer dashboard or ask the account owner to confirm the value before connecting.

Paddle API keys authenticate requests to the Paddle Billing API with a Bearer token. New keys begin with a pdl_ prefix and identify sandbox or live mode.
- In Paddle, open Developer tools → Authentication.
- Select the API keys tab and choose New API key.
- Give the key a clear name and description so the owner and purpose are recognizable.
- Select only the permissions needed for RevenueStack’s catalog, pricing, subscription, and deployment workflow. Use the current Permissions documentation to review each scope.
- Set an expiry date and enable rotation when your team can support key rotation.
- Save the key and copy it immediately; Paddle displays the secret only once.
- Paste the complete key into Paddle API Key in the authenticated RevenueStack application.

- Save or test the connection.
- Run a read-only catalog check before approving any deployment.
