How to Connect RevenueStack to Google Play
Google Play access is configured across two consoles. Google Cloud creates the service account and its JSON key; Google Play Console grants that service account access to your developer account.
Credentials RevenueStack requires
Before you start
You need access to the Google Play Console developer account and a Google Cloud project. The service account must be created in Google Cloud, then invited and granted permissions in Google Play Console.
- Use a dedicated service account for RevenueStack rather than a personal user account.
- Keep the JSON key server-side and treat it like a password.
- The app package name is the application ID used by Google Play, such as com.example.app.
1. Google Play Package Name
The package name uniquely identifies the Android app in Google Play. It is also called the application ID or package ID.
- Open Google Play Console and select the app.
- Open the app dashboard or App integrity / app information area where the application identifier is shown.
- Copy the complete package name exactly, including lowercase letters, periods, and any digits.
- Confirm it matches the app whose subscriptions and prices RevenueStack should manage.

RevenueStack uses a Google Cloud service account for server-to-server access. You create the identity and JSON key in Google Cloud, then grant that identity access in Google Play Console.
- In Google Cloud Console, create or select the project you will use for this integration.
- Open APIs & Services → Library, find Google Play Android Developer API, and select Enable.
- Open IAM & Admin → Service Accounts and select Create service account. Give it a clear name such as revenuestack-play, then finish creation.
- Open the new service account, choose Keys → Add key → Create new key, select JSON, and download the file. Keep the file private.
- Copy the service account email address from the service-account details page. It looks like an email address ending in iam.gserviceaccount.com.
- In Google Play Console, open Users and permissions and select Invite new users. Enter the service account email address.
- Grant only the permissions required by the RevenueStack workflow. For subscription and billing data, Google’s getting-started guide lists View financial data, orders, and cancellation survey responses and Manage orders and subscriptions. Review the current Play Console permission descriptions before saving.
- Accept the invitation if Google Play presents an invitation step, then verify the service account appears under Users and permissions.
- In the separate RevenueStack application, choose Google Play, paste the package name, and paste the complete JSON file contents into the Service Account JSON field.

After Google Play has authorized the service account, use the two values in the authenticated RevenueStack application.
- Paste the exact package name into Google Play Package Name.
- Paste the full downloaded JSON object into Google Cloud Service Account JSON.
- Save or test the connection.
- Start with a read-only catalog import and confirm the returned app is the intended package before preparing pricing changes.
