How to Connect RevenueStack to Apple App Store Connect

Apple uses a team API key to identify your account and an elliptic-curve private key to sign API requests. Keep all three values together: Key ID, Issuer ID, and private key content.

Credentials RevenueStack requires

Before you start

You need an Apple organization or individual App Store Connect account, permission to manage API keys, and access to the app catalog you want RevenueStack to manage.

  • Use a Team API key when RevenueStack must work across the apps in your organization. Individual keys inherit the associated user’s access and are tied to that user.
  • Apple requires two-factor authentication for App Store Connect access.
  • Choose a role that includes the catalog and pricing operations your RevenueStack workflow needs. Use the narrowest role that supports your approved workflow; an Admin key is broader than necessary for many teams.

1. App Store Connect Key ID

The Key ID identifies the specific API key Apple issued. It is a short public identifier and is used together with the Issuer ID and private key.

  1. Sign in to App Store Connect.
  2. Open Users and Access, then choose the Integrations tab.
  3. In the left sidebar, select App Store Connect API.
  4. Open Team Keys. If a suitable key does not exist, select Generate API Key or the plus (+) button, name the key, choose the required role, and generate it.
  5. Find the key in the Active list and copy the value in the Key ID column.

2. Issuer ID

The Issuer ID identifies the App Store Connect organization that owns the API key. It is usually a UUID-style value displayed near the top of the API keys page.

  1. Stay on Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API.
  2. Look near the top of the Keys page for Issuer ID.
  3. Use Apple’s Copy control or select the complete value and copy it into RevenueStack.

3. Private Key Content (.p8)

The .p8 file is the private half of the App Store Connect API key. RevenueStack expects the text inside that file, including the BEGIN and END lines.

  1. On the same App Store Connect API page, locate the key you created.
  2. Select Download API Key next to the key.
  3. Open the downloaded .p8 file in a plain-text editor. Do not open it in a rich-text editor that changes characters or line breaks.
  4. Copy the complete contents, from -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY----- through -----END PRIVATE KEY-----.
  5. Paste that complete block into RevenueStack’s Private Key Content field.

-----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY-----

-----END PRIVATE KEY-----

Connect Apple to RevenueStack

Once you have all three values, open the Apple integration in the separate RevenueStack application and provide the values in their matching fields.

  1. Paste the Key ID into the Key ID field.
  2. Paste the Issuer ID into the Issuer ID field.
  3. Paste the full .p8 text into Private Key Content.
  4. Save or test the connection in the RevenueStack application.
  5. Run a read-only catalog check before approving any live pricing changes.
